Our Story

We live in Christiansburg, VA and have 5 kids.  Three boys, an angel girl, and a miscarriage.  Our angel girl was stillborn on July 8, 2012.  She was perfect.  Eight months in the womb, 4.7 lbs, and 18 inches long.  The pregnancy was perfect.  No problems, ultrasounds were fine, and our previous 2 pregnancies went well.  All of a sudden, there were no movements in the womb.  We had just completed our final baby shower, the nursery was ready and so were we.  However, our baby girl, Catelynn, didn't get to come home with us.  Instead on July 14, 2012 we had her funeral.  We also had to explain to her 2 older brothers, 6 and 3 at the time, that she was in heaven.

Our church family, friends, and family jumped in to help us pay for the expenses.  The funeral home waived all costs.  Our church family bought the cemetery plot.  We would have been in severe financial distress if we hadn't been helped in this way.  Not everyone has the support we were fortunate to have.  Therefore, we decided we are going to help people like we were helped.  We will help pay for decent funeral and cemetery costs.  We will help with grief.

After our stillbirth, we found out how prevalent stillbirths actually are in America.  It's too shocking to not be shared.  We decided part of our nonprofit would be to share the astounding data.  The plan is for that data to be available on this website for years to come.
